ABOUT THE COMPOSER

Anna Marcus-Hecht is a composer based in Ithaca, NY with a B.M. in composition from Ithaca College. She has studied under the studios of Evis Sammoutis, Jorge Grossmann, and Dana Wilson, as well as in Vienna under Gabriele Proy.

Anna's music is written to evoke a strong sense of emotion in her listeners, whether the piece be a standalone contemporary classical work or part of a larger soundtrack.

Notable performances include her song cycle Transfigurations, performed at the 2019 LunART festival, and her first original musical, Time's Apprentice, performed in April of 2019. In summer of 2019, Anna worked as the orchestrator for Katrina: A New Musical, performed at the Kitchen Theater in Ithaca, NY
